Wenlock Poetry Festival is a dedicated poetry festival run predominately by volunteers, poets, and poetry enthusiasts. In 2013 the festival became a charity, registered by the Charity Commission.

Anna Dreda is the Festival Founder. Passionate about poetry and 2014 Costa Judge for Poetry, Anna celebrated the 25th year of her independent shop, Wenlock Books where she runs regular poetry breakfasts, reading groups and courses for adults and children.
Dr Greg Leadbetter, poet, critic and academic, currently Director of the Institute of Creative and Critical Writing and Director of the MA in Creative Writing, Birmingham City University, lives in Hollywood, Worcestershire.
Charlie Lenton, who lives in Wenlock, has worked in the financial services industry for many years. She is now Assistant Director at Brewin Dolphin, one of the UK’s largest private client wealth managers.
Angela Piddock is the Festival’s Acting Chair.
Will Prestwood (founding director) of Cross Houses near Shrewsbury, is senior consultant at Arbor Vitae environmental and land management consultancy. Last year the farm he runs in Staffordshire won the Whitegrove sustainable farming award.
Linda Stempt was a civil servant for many years, latterly masquerading as a business analyst, developing and managing IT projects and supporting their users across the UK. Now retired, she lives in Much Wenlock, and has finally achieved her life’s ambition of becoming a professional layabout.
